20 Signs You May Be About to Die
Dec 13th, 2007 by admin

Watch out, you may be about to die! I recall reading about an obscure native culture in which the concept of death is fluid rather than fixed. You might be “dead” (somewhat sick), “very dead” (extremely ill) or “completely dead” (actually deceased) according to their terminology. The following 20 funny photos have been organized by these darkly funny and fatalistic categories! Believe it or not, the image above is completely real - the photograph was taken in Lysefjorden, Norway.

Dead (aka Somewhat Sick): The above victims may survive their ordeals but will certainly have some scars an bruises to show for them. A shark bite here, broken nose there and a few gore marks later these traumatized sports players, spectators and commuters all have priceless photos to document their near-death experiences.

Very Dead (Extremely Ill): The top set of photos, while completely unretouched via Photoshop, was of course staged. A French photographer hired hip-hop dancers to jump and appear to be falling on the sidestreets of France. The latter group of images, though, depict dizzying near-death automotive accidents. How do you suppose that last guy got out in time?!

Completely Dead (Actually Deceased): While nothing is sure in life, everything is certain in death and few of the above-featured individuals seem likely to make it out alive. To be fair, a few from this last category have ‘gone under the knife’ so to speak and become victims of Photoshop (good news for the ‘victims’ they feature), though they are nonetheless entertaining after their digital ’surgery’!

The culture you are talking about is the BamButi tribe, featured in the ethnography, The Forest People.
Holy crap! Those where hot pics dude!
The crane going over the bridge was actually only a few miles away from my house, and I can tell you the crane driver survived, and the crane balanced there for about 24 hours!
The fallen log picture is insane!
Hi, I know there is always one and today it’s me
The first picture is not taken at Lysefjord, but shows the “Trolltunga” (i.e. trolls tongue) above the storage lake Ringedalsvatn near Odda, Norway. The rock formation Lysefjord is famous for is the “Prekestolen”, which looks quite different (as you can see when you google both.
Having seid that, my favorite picture is the shark in the wave.
I like all of the pictures except for this one which has obviously been photoshoped:
Its obvious because:
1) He has a putter.
2) The angle is bad.
3) The ball is sloppy in how it has been placed into the scene.
Otherwise, these are sweeet!

I love that stuff. Real or not, still immensely entertaining.
nice …. very nice
Nice list, good thing that you note that some of the images are ps victims.
Hwoever it sucks a bit that the most dead pics, are the most ps’ed ones as well, and the least lulzworthy too!
I liked this!
Very nice compilation
I thought the golf one was funny, since the golf player is holding a putter. This means the camera (us) are on the ground and the ball is going pretty slowly =D
Wicked! My fave is the wood truck.
ouch.
Those are really good. Whoever made the golfing one in Photoshop should have used a different golf picture. I don’t know very many golfers that can get deathly force and hight on a ball while putting. Maybe the ball was struck by one of those drunken idiots that always seem to be chipping while my group is putting. The rest are great!
who hits the ball that high while they are putting!
Pretty good pictures, except the golf one. He is holding a putter. You’d have to be the worst golfer in life to send a golf ball into a camera with a putter.
about the excavator falling out of the building, not only do i wonder how he got out in time, i wonder, how the heck did the excavator get into the building?!?!
these were amazing! the one from the eiffel tower actually quickened my heartbeat a little. but the one with a “shark” is actually of a dolphin. :/ not quite as life-threatening, but still a FANTASTIC picture!
All neat except the golf one. He’s putting! And the club is down, not up like it would be after a swing! That doesn’t even make sense!
The picture of the logs falling off the truck and about to go through the windshield is from one of the Final Destination movies, I forgot which one but you can tell because it’s the windshield of a state police car.
That guy is holding a putter, either he really laid into it, or it took a wicked bounce. HA
great pictures…although the golf one would’ve been more convincing if the player wasn’t using a putter!
You are watching me type.
Love it. Especially the logging truck pic.
Geeze, someone needs to learn the gentle art of putting…
The logging truck one is a screencap from a movie- I think one of the Final Destination movies where everyone dies.
Indeed, if you look closely you’ll notice that the last set (except for the viral final image) are edited images, however the article does say as much so I’m surprised there have been a few complaints about that!
Fantastic images even if some are photoshoped
Great collection of scary images.
I think this train image is a good education for future train drivers.
the fallen log pic is from one of the final destination movies either 2 or 3
The “falling log” picture (third one in completely dead) is from Final Destination 2 (as hinted at by other commenters), when the state trooper gets minced by a log. (amazing special effects though)
I’ve also seen the train one (where it’s driving off a bridge) far too much to believe it’s real without a reputable news source.
The log picture is fake…its from the movie
“Final Destination 2″
A good deal of these are from worth1000.com, which is a for fun photo editing competition site. Feel free to LEAVE THE WATERMARK ON THE PICTURES NEXT TIME YOU DO IT… What makes you decide that stealing images from another site is such a good idea?
IT’S A DOLPHIN NOT A SHARK…
its a dolphin you can see the tail fin is horizontal not vertical
Also, the dorsal fin is the wrong shape for a shark. Sharks’ fins are triangular, not curved.

Wow very good
The top picture is real, and it is from Norway, but not from Lysefjorden, but from Ringedalsvatnet near Tyssedal in Hardanger.
The motive of this picture is called Trolltunga (tongue of the troll).
I’ve sat on it myself three times, it’s a real long hike and is well worth a visit on a sunny day.
[…] the rain. To help visualise the kind of thing Gerald may seen just before biting the bullet I found a gallery of near death imagery. Some interesting pics, Rest in Peace […]
